Home Treatment Team

Waltham Forest South Locality

The Home Treatment Team (HTT) provides a 24 hour, 7 day a week, 365 days a year acute community mental health crisis resolution service.

The aim of the Home Treatment Team is to provide an alternative to hospital admission for people experiencing a serious mental health crisis or alternatively to facilitate early discharge from in-patient services.

The HTT, therefore, supports users in their own homes providing an intensive package of care within the community. This aims to encompass all the relevant services, as well as the involvement of the client’s family and supporting network.

The HTT is the gatekeeper to all admissions in the Waltham Forest South Locality to ensure appropriate choice and treatment for users.

The HTT provides support to other agencies within the mental health services and primary care to enable users to remain at home if experiencing serious mental health crisis.
